I live with a houseful of men - my hubby and 2 sons. It’s been interesting running a life-long experiment on fraternity life. LOL.
I don’t recall how I heard about International Men’s Day, but I liked the sound of it.
The celebration was first introduced in 1999 by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh in Trinidad and Tobago, aiming to highlight the achievements of men and address issues impacting their lives. (Source: Times of India)
I am republishing one of my most popular articles here too - Ode to Neanderthals - because within that story I shared my love of men (for men’s sake) in their natural glory as descendants of Neanderthals. After you read that, head back over here for the ‘after dinner mint’ of meme drops. xoxoxoxoxo
Three Cheers for the men in our lives!!! You should take a sick day and watch Clint Eastwood movies and the Dukes of Hazard while stuffing your faces with cake and drinking beer. LOL. Or, whatever you like to eat, drink, and watch.
My whole take on this Neanderthal thing goes something like this - In the beginning, God made ‘man’ in His image - full stop. Then He tore out a man-rib (quit your crying, it’s only a scratch), scraped up some dirt, and voila threw a woman at him, then a snake, then the body shaming set in and shit got rapidly out of hand. With the killing and the drinking and the sex and the drugs and the 2 mules for sister Sara business over in that place with a lot of sand. No wonder everyone lost their minds. Men got fed up with sand in all their cracks and crevices REAL FAST! To tame the savage beast, life devolved into the 3 base requirements for man - food, sex, and sleep. Today I captured a collection of memes that just might put us in mind of those 3 simple needs. Enjoy!
Did you know that hitting the ❤️ icon above or below, and sharing this post makes it easier for people to find Stacky Speaks?
Stir up some trouble in the comments. I don’t block just anyone. It must be EGREGIOUS or some shit like that.
****If humor makes you happy, I’m excited to share that I’m working on a collaboration to roll out some good news after the holidays.
Hilarious as always, Cori! Keep going!!!
I grew up with brothers and male cousins around me. There’s a lot of Tom-Boy in me! 😁
