I’ve just discovered that my new home in the mountains is on the local bears’ hiking trail.

Lol. Wait, are you serious?

If I could I’d show a picture of a bear footprint about ten feet from my front porch. The nearest neighbor had one try to get into his jeep.

The neighbor showed the minor scratches on his rear bumper. I’m spreading the rumor that the bear stopped because he decided to extended a professional courtesy to a fellow bear 🐻. The neighbor is a deputy sheriff aka a bear 🐻. 😁

Into his jeep? That’s wild!

Lol, Cori. Some way funny memes there.

I love being in nature ("going bush" as they say here in Australia). I gotta say though - when I'm visiting your country, or Canada, bears scare me too! Cute to look at from a distance, but omg......

Lol. I’ve found that memes are helping people cope with US election season and other global pressures. If you like these nature memes, by far my most popular EVER were in this Tuesday Tidbits: Cori’s First Memes post - all about woman and a total hoot.

Cori, that "gurgle with bourbon" line got me! I don't drink...but I can just imagine "gurgling" with bourbon! I would imagine the results might be un-nerving, given the intensity of...BOURBON! That ain't BEER!

I agree and that’s what made it funny

I love this collection of memes Cori! They really reflect who you are in your post. I guess you never know what you’re going to encounter on a hiking trail. Even a bear 🐻

It was magical. I wished for a moment that we didn’t know so much about bears I might have had more than a glance from such a distance. But knowing that mamas tree the babies when they smell danger meant they knew about us much sooner than we knew about them. Many people don’t know that motherly love is much more violently aggressive with black bears than grizzly bears and to top it off they’re starting to prep for hibernation, prep which includes a broader diet. 😵‍💫

No I didn’t know that 😬😬😬

Good thing you scrambled out of there! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

Grizzly mommas with cubs are much more dangerous than black bears with same. A predatory black bear, however, is quite another story.

Cori Bren's avatar

Not sure where I saw that info I shared but Sue is right. Grizzlies are more aggressive. Must have been article about more black bear attacks because there are more black bears near people. Sorry for that.

No need to apologize! More people are killed by cows than bears, btw. I’ve been working in the bush for over thirty years and have had encounters with both, neither being very comfortable. One time, seven grizzlies in one day. The next day we decided to do a drive through the cut block on which we were to work, but when we spotted the sow grizzly with two cubs, we decided to move elsewhere to work for a while. I’ve very nearly been run down by a moo cow with a calf another time - stepped over a log to have a young calf shoot between my legs. Momma deer and moose can be pretty aggressive as well!

Thanks Cori. The bears are awesome 😆😆

Thanks. It’s getting harder to find funny memes. I guess I’ll keep at it now and then until they’re gone. Let’s enjoy them while we can.

Thanks sis. We need some lightness in our weeks.

What first meme of "What the Hell Mother Nature" is hilarious. I cannot imagine what that would like if I were half asleep and not yet had any coffee.

It would startle me for sure right in my face! Lol
