My grandma and older sister were excellent, and I treasure a few of their crochet items they made for me. I am pretty good seamstress though, but shhhh 🤫. It’s become a lost art and skill, so when people find out you can sew they bring everything your way. It’s hard for me to turn them down. 🧵 🪡🥹
Thank you so much! My mother in law taught me when I was in high school. Back then my work came out miniature because I had a death-grip tension which made all my stitches small and tight. lol I’ve grown up and chilled out so I can make room sized pieces now. I have a lot of fun with knitting looms too both manual and automated. ❤️
I'm with you on that. I'm not at all a good seamstress, really, in the scheme of things. But I know how to mend, so when I visit my in-laws, they've been known to greet me with piles of clothes that have broken zippers and missing buttons.
I do love it that mending has become trendy once again, though! I am really hoping more people will take it up.
I’m a mender too. I’ve done some embroidery and hand quilting so I have some minor stitch talent. I don’t spread that around and I don’t mend socks mostly because my hubby’s socks are like a decade old and threadbare. So I say it’s time for some new ones. Lol
I remember my Mum crocheting when I was little. She also did wool rug making and would let me have a go. There was a picture of a donkey on the rug! I learned basic knitting but not crochet. You must be so patient creating this! 🌟
It’s a natural cure for anxiety and lowers blood pressure. Plus it drains all that creative overhead so I can be a normal human for short periods between creative madness. I’m working on a room design/palette from Jenn’s painting right now. Lol
My brain is normal to me and all the characters inside I talk with. My wife told me I now have an outlet for getting some of the, let's say stories, released. Sound normal to you?
How lovely!
I never could get the hang of crocheting 🧶

I look forward to watching your progress Cori! ❤️

That was me, too, Cori! I was a super tight crocheter when I first learned, and I still have a bit of that tendency.

Sorry I'm late getting to this one, Substack has been a bit wonky with notifications 😐
A fascinating project here, Cori - looking forward to seeing where you take it! ☺️

Absolutely normal. Move along people, nothing to see here…(walks away whistling). Voices, I have those too…
