Ah, Yes. The Holidays - Are We Dunn Yet?

What on earth is going on? There are Rae Dunn mugs and decorations for EVERY holiday and fall is no exception. I’ve lagged this year in opening my single bin of fall decor I allow myself. But my nieces have broken the seal on their Rae Dunn collections. If you’re not familiar with Rae Dunn, she makes pottery that my husband describes as “made by a drunken 5 year old”. Admittedly I have a few Rae Dunn items, but 2 of my nieces are true collectors who ‘Rae Dunn’ their homes for all of the various holidays popular in the United States, much to the dismay of their significant others. Lol.
It’s a tradition this time of year to decorate for fall as early as August, and Christmas starting November 1st, for many. Poor Thanksgiving is a veritable red-haired step child sandwiched between the #2 and #1 spending holidays in this country. This year, my family will have pumpkins, prayer, and thankfulness. Only in December, will we celebrate with a tree and the glories of Hallmark movies, but that’s a tale for another time.

I am a November baby and love the Autumn...but I do not like Halloween...
I do not particularly like pumpkin spice...except in pumpkin pie with ice cream...everything else is overkill...
I love Christmas...but I do not decorate in any way. I used to, back in the dinosaur era, with my dear Mom...but that was a longgggg time ago...
Actually, I do not decorate for anything...
Of course my home "decor" is Early American Flintstone, accompanied by Earlier American Floor (otherwise known as old hipster...) Hence, I am NOT inviting all of you over to MY house! Nothing personal, I am not a great housekeeper (not filthy but not pristine, whatever that means, along with "immaculate" ) and have paper all over the place (I'ze a WRITER, y'all...), "organized clutter!"
Annnddd...I must be a Barbarian, but I have never heard of Rae Dunn! Never!

I love this and agree on the desire to be done with politics and the idiots of the world - thank you 😊 - For what it’s worth, Great American Family (tv) has been doing Christmas movies for about 2 weeks now and Hallmark the better part of a week. I’ve also been in a few stores filled with Christmas stuff for a couple of weeks now too. It’s all too damn early !
