The vibration and pounding start over again
Triggering primordial memories of when
This realm was born
Eons ago, before they arrived, rock rained from above
Scorched on impact, the convulsions and quaking drove
My kind below
The shuddering lingered for time without end
Driven deep, deeper still where liquid heat bent
Rock into granite til the quakes at last slowed
Dusty air cloaked the sun in stygian night
Profound darkness smothering all hope of light
Herein we lay buried neath mountains to mourn
Hibernation for epochs, it seems, until when
Peace was shattered by shaking and pounding again
The bouts of vibration careening, we know
It’s time for the mountains to wake up and fight
Them, the beings whose battles do blight
All creation, ground into dust from their scorn
Hushed buzzing the flyers vaporize foe and friend
Nations weep and tremble, shivering without end
In water-soaked trenches they hunker below
Deeper still I lie silent but weary of moves
That hinder the realm’s dawning love
And alas, with eyes open I know
It’s time to emerge armor-plated with wings
To burst from the core on air scented spring
To smother and burn them, no mercy I’ll show
Long bound in silence beneath crushing stone
I’ve dreamt of this moment to pulverize bone
And flesh, conflagrating it all to the ground
Jagged grin spewing lava in deafening blasts
Til my heart bursts wide open, satiated at last
Charred flesh for miles and miles around
Peace reigns in their stead, no one left to atone
For the greed that began endless wars, they were prone
To inflict upon others their undeserved thrones
Make way for new epochs! I’ve risen again
To end them, the realm fresh and new from my cleanse
How sublime is this moment
Then why so forlorn?
